The Cameroon Population-based HIV Impact Assessment (CAMPHIA) began fieldwork in June 2017 and concluded in January 2018.

CAMPHIA teams worked in all 10 regions of Cameroon under the guidance of the Ministry of Health, the National Institute of Statistics, CDC, and ICAP to provide confidential HIV counseling and testing to participants.

Key Preliminary Findings

HIV incidence among adults 15-64 years: 0.27%
HIV prevalence among adults 15-64 years: 3.7%
Viral load suppression among adults 15-64 years living with HIV:44.7%
90-90-90 among adults living with HIV 15 years and older:46.9% of adults living with HIV know their status;
91.3% of those individuals self-report being on anti-retroviral therapy (ART);
80.0% of those who report being on ART have viral load suppression.
